What is a Puff Bar?
The Puff Bar ‘s been around for a long time. In the first 20th century, the idea of the Puff Bar was devised by way of a man named Richard C. Laramy. This bar stool was designed to make it easier for folks to smoke. These were not the first “pipe” style smoking devices though. Prior to the creation of the Puff Bar, smokers had to either take a seat on the ground of a smoky bar or stand up in front of a dirty grill.
In the past, whatever you did to smoke was inhaled through the mouth and blow in to the air as if you were blowing out birthday candles. There is really no other method. Smoking became popular and then smokers tried to get new ways to do it. Soon, smokers started using hinged, revolving devices that would let them smoke without needing to sit back.
The first devices came later on. They might rotate once you took a drag. These devices eventually evolved into the modern puff machine we realize today. The earliest models were probably crafted from brass or steel and were mounted on bars set inside a brick or stone abode.
Eventually, these evolved right into a contraption known as a hookah. Hookah’s are hooked up to your bathroom sink. Inside you will find a water tube. The water fills up the tube and forces a continuing stream of water through the hookah.
Eventually, someone made a decision to attach the bar to something that was outside. This would prevent smoke from entering your house. These contraptions soon evolved in to the modern-day bar and smokers could now sit down and enjoy a smoke while they were working. Prior to the invention of the Puff Bar, this would not have been possible.
How the Puff Bar came into being is shrouded in mystery. Some say that the inspiration came from an army officer named Captain William Blunt. When he was stationed Puff Bar Flavors at the Western Front, the elements was very cold and he wanted something warm to sit in. He may have looked at an old stove or something similar. 1 day, he took some materials and fashioned a Puff Bar out of these.
The initial bar that Blunt ever designed was considered by some to be crudely fashioned. It didn’t have a design that would allow visitors to smoke. This bar wouldn’t normally have the temperature controls a smoker would need to use. It would not need the design that could allow smokers to pack their very own cigarettes. The problem with this particular initial bar was that it would take a whole evening for somebody to create a single bowl of cigarettes.
As time continued, the theory for the modern-day bar evolved. It was no longer essential to have a chimney as a way to smoke. People were able to pack their very own cigarettes in tins and put them in the lender books. A smoker could pack his own and take it with him to work.
The initial “smoking room” to be built had not been to resemble a bar at all, but instead, an antebellum plantation house. Smokers could go there after their day in the field and relax and smoke. Because the usage of the smoke pipe became popular, so did the need for these items.
Because the use of the smoke pipe evolved, so too did the construction of the tobacco pipe that has been needed to smoke. The tobacco pipes were crafted from clay to help keep the smoke from floating away. They were often attached to the finish of each bar to keep the smoking material within its pipe. The initial “tobacco pipes” were designed to help cigarette smokers avoid lighting another cigarette on somebody else’s cigarette. In this way, they could continue smoking and avoid having the taste of someone else’s cigarette.
The invention of the smoking bar changed all of this. Instead of the chimney being attached to the finish of the bar to help keep the smoke pipe from escaping, the bar became where all smokers could meet and socialize. This gave rise from what we know today because the “smoker’s club”. All smokers of cigarettes could join together in a common space and enjoy a nice relaxing smoke while they discussed their day.
Although some individuals were concerned that the bar was essentially destined to become a “smoker’s club”, this didn’t happen. You may still find many places that allow smokers to get together and enjoy each others company. There are even places that cater to those who love the smell of burning wood or the sight of a fire. If you’re after a great new spot to spend your Saturday afternoon, look into renting a puff bar. You won’t regret it.
